MG 1/100 QAN[T]

Well what can I say, QAN[T] was a little something different in terms of design and kit engineering. I very much enjoyed working on this kit purely of the fact that it’s the main suit in the 00 Awakening of the Trailblazer timeline. With this project, I didn’t have any plans to modify; this was more of an experiment project where I wanted to try mixing custom colours. The Full Saber did catch my eye as I felt that the stock equipment needs a bit more "oomph" to it. So I purchased the GN Sword IV from BTF through ebay; now this is obviously a 3rd party add on but I must say, the mould is very good and it comes coloured so didnt really need painting; but for the purpose of the project, paint was necessary of course. I always like the suits from 00MSV, they are some of the most unique looking gundams and their equipment was simply amazing. Ebikawa always has the rigidity on his designs which I really like. The way he places his decals differs from Katoki. So with that said, I also purchased a 3rd party decal as a further supplement to the project.

For this project, I primarily used Gaianotes Paint for Airbrush; I used pure white, Silver Mettalic, Black and Bright Blue. To get the custom blue that I wanted, I mixed pure white and the blue; 60% White and 40% blue, these paints are top notch, they are unbeatable with how they ionises on the airbrush and is very tough when dried. Mixing paint wasn’t all that difficult to be honest, it was quite simple and really is up to personal judgment since its custom colours after all.  I have plans to buy this kit again and mod it; I really enjoyed building it, the kit has everything a good kit could offer; another must buy for a gunpla modeler.

  11. This may sound off topic or something, but what is your opinion about the knee bend? I have a 00 raiser and I hate it's knees, too much gap in between the double joints.

I'm a big fan of your work, the red and blue frame customs are my favorite. Looking forward on your next projects.
